The author has written this pivotal account of our history based on facts along with unbiased analysis from assorted historical text, referenced from a variety of sources. It is evident after reading the. book that she has carried out an assiduous study of our history since her narrative is unlike other ubiquitous books available on this subject.
Although there are a few minor irregularities in the publication; however, it is a splendid book to read and learn about our Sikh history containing information on the crucial role played by members of Maharajah Ranjeet Singh’s family along with Europeans in the rise and fall of the Sikh Empire.
The author has provided elaborate details on the women who played a vital part in the establishment and governance of the Empire from: Mai Desan, Raj Kaur, Sada Kaur, Mai Nakian, Chand Kaur, Jind Kaur etc.
This is an outstanding publication to get a hold of for those who have read books on Sikh history and would like to argument their knowledge based on intelligent, critical analysis and thought provoking research from an erudite individual and a member of our community.
